The West Street Arts centre and other public buildings are closed during lockdown, and so the following activities aren’t taking place at the moment. However, we hope that they will resume as soon as it’s safe to do so.
Several groups use our rooms , which are available to hire. Some meet on a weekly basis, some monthly and some meet on only one occasion. Below you will find details of these groups and who to contact for further information.
This is an active group that meets in room 1 every Tuesday over the winter months.
The Yarn Group and the Saturday Group
Sunflowers made by Yarn Group for Open Art Exhibition 2017
These lively groups meet every week on a Wednesday and on a Saturday afternoon. Meetings start in the café but move to room 2 if they need the room. They are self led groups who discuss and make goods from yarn, knitting, crocheting and possibly spinning if there is enough interest. Participants are very friendly and welcoming and, as the name suggests they are also interested in chat. To find out more about these groups contact firstname.lastname@example.org, or just come along to the West Street café on a Wednesday from 10.00am or on a Saturday afternoon.
This is an art group for children on Friday afternoon run by Alison Tait. Alison is an artist and qualified teacher. Young students are encouraged to find their own way of expressing themselves using various media. For more details contact Alison at email@example.com
