Join Jenni in the Town Hall between 11.45am and 1.30pm for this very relaxed crafting session suitable for ages 5 years up. Jenni will show you the basics of felting and encourage folk of every age to produce their own. This is an increasingly popular craft/art form that can produce anything from furry pets for children to complex scenes and landscapes.for the more advanced. The procedure involves the use of sharp needles.

Nancy Bryce; winner Penicuik Turner Prize 2017 The Penicuik Turner Prize Exhibition opens on Saturday the 1st September from 2.00pm till 4.00pm. It is then open from 10.00am till 4.00pm Monday till Saturday and will close with the announcement of the winners on Sunday the 9th September from 2.00pm till 4.00pm. We are delighted to welcome Curmudgeon back to West Street Arts Centre for the first concert of our Arts Festival. It is 2 years since they last played for us and that is 2 years too long. EXHIBITION OPENS SUNDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2.00PM -4.00PM   Nancy was the worthy winner of last year's Penicuik Turner prize with this stunning painting of grasses in moonlight. This year she is giving a solo exhibition in the cafe gallery.       Moira leads a creative writing workshop for older children in primaries 4 to 7. Children are given the freedom to create and share their own stories.   We all have a story to tell. This is a memoir-writing workshop, suitable for writers with all levels of experience, to encourage participants to tell their own stories.           Catharine Davison hails from Northern Ireland moving to Edinburgh in 2007.
