[vc_row row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]Henry Marsh, poet, is the inspiration behind this annual, popular event in our PENFEST programme. This year we have been very saddened by the death of  Jackie Marsh, Henry’s wife, and this concert is dedicated to her memory.

Proceeds from the concert will be divided between Penicuik Community Arts Association and Marie Curie Nursing Home. Rosslyn Chapel will donate the cost of chapel hire to Marie Curie Nursing Home.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]

This year we have 3 poets and 5 musicians weaving their magic in the beautiful and mysterious surroundings of Rosslyn Chapel.

Henry was born in Broughty Ferry but now lives in Midlothian. He has a particular affinity with South Uist and writes extensively about its wildlife and countryside.  He has recited at local festivals and of course has recited in Rosslyn Chapel on many occasions

This is a very welcome return visit for Alan. He was born in Airdrie and studied at Cambridge. He is now professor of Scottish Literature at Glasgow University and has published 5 collections of poems.  Alan was one of the poets at PENFEST 2015 and we look forward to hearing him again.

Marjorie was writer in residence at Wigtown Book Festival. her poems have been published in a number of anthologies and journals. She won first prize in the National Galleries Inspired? Get writing! competition and has twice been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize

This year Kate Miguda will lead 4 superb musicians in Mozart’s quintet in D major.  The music weaves its own magic on these evenings; poetry and music dance together
