Catharine Davison hails from Northern Ireland moving to Edinburgh in 2007. She was inspired by the city’s panoramas and vistas and has developed her own style of painting referencing the plein air tradition and contemporary art practices. She has shown work throughout the UK and is currently represented by the Open Eye Gallery in Edinburgh. She won the Lynn Painter-Stainer’s Prize in 2014 for representational painting at the Mall Galleries, London. In additon to her own art practice she delivers courses at Edinburgh University, Leith School of Art and Loretto School in Musselburgh.
Catharine will tell us of her inspirations and what drives her to continue painting.
